Why do you describe the ceremony as 'Uniquely You’ ? No two weddings should be or look the same. If floral archways or fine dining isn't you then do as your heart desires. You can tinker and modify all you like because there is no right or wrong way - just your way. I will always provide suggestions and guidance to ensure you have the very best for you.
Does the Uniquely You package have to include photography? Photography is an integral part of the Uniquely You ceremony package. The planning and photography work together. As your wedding planning is in the making you can decide what photography coverage is best for you.
What are the law requirements to marry in the Cook Islands?
Cook Islands law requires all people wishing to get married to be 21 years of age or to have written consent from their parents.
· Application for a marriage licence must be made in person to the Registrar of Marriages at least three full working days before the wedding. You cannot apply for a licence outside of the Cook Islands
· Applicants for a marriage licence must produce a passport, birth certificate, Decree Absolute copy (if applicable).
· You are both required to be within the Cook Islands three full working days before the day of marriage or alternatively a “waiver fee” can be paid within this timeframe.
· Marriages in the Cook Islands are recognised internationally however checking with your own countries marriage licensing authorities for their local requirements concerning marriages.
We want to have a ceremony or wedding to celebrate our relationship, but we don’t want to get legally married. Can we do that? Yes, many people appreciate the ritual of a wedding even if they don’t want to (or can’t) get legally married. You can celebrate your love with family and friends, or make vows to each other in a private ritual.
What is an elopement? Couples who opt to have no guests, or just two guests to act as witnesses. The Uniquely You Ceremony package is for up to 10 guests.
We don’t want any guests at our wedding, is that possible? Absolutely! Elopements are so intensely romantic! Witnesses can be arranged.
What if we don’t want to purchase the photography? We Do Cook Islands is designed to provide planning + photography. Photography is captured by Melanie Cooper Photography.
Do you cater for same sex coupes? Yes we certainly do! Love is love. Currently and unfortunately in the Cook Islands same sex marriage is not legal. As a proud supporter of marriage equality we can conduct a commitment ceremony.
Can we choose our own Celebrant? A list of preferred non-denominational Celebrants based on their availability and personality will be presented to you. For a religious ceremony a Minister can be arranged.
Can we have personalised vows? Definitely! You will need to have your vows completed a month before your wedding.
Does the Celebrant provide vows we can use? Yes, and the vows can me modified to suit you.
Can we visit the venue before the wedding? Some of the venues are privately owned which means they may only be able to view via their website. Other venues are more open to the public so you can go and check them out or images can be emailed to you.
What if it rains on the day? Rain or shine, you'll have a great day no matter what. Some venues have an undercover option, otherwise at an additional cost a marquee can be set up.
Can we add on to our package? Yes. Additional services to personalise your day can be arranged, whether it be transportation, an archway, canapés and more. Please contact us for further details.

How do we book? To secure your wedding date and time we require a NZ$1,000.00 non refundable deposit for your planning + photography with a copy of the signed Terms & Conditions. Then your final balance is required 90 days prior to your wedding date. If this sounds like you, send through an email and we’ll take it from there ..
